Dr. Gisele Girault
Dr. Gisele Girault is a highly respected anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist with more than two decades of experience in academic medicine and private practice. She is board-certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and board-certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Girault is also a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (IME), Certified Life Care Planner (LCP), and proficient in the AMA Guides to Permanent Impairment, Fifth and Sixth Editions.
Education and Training
Dr. Girault graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and a minor in Physics.
She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1990 and completed her Residency in Anesthesiology at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Following residency, she pursued subspecialty training with a Fellowship in Pain and Palliative Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, where she remained as Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Medical Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship Program.
Academic and Professional Experience
Dr. Girault began her career as a Clinical Instructor in Anesthesiology at New York Medical College before entering private practice in New Jersey, specializing in general and pediatric anesthesia. Her tenure at Dartmouth included clinical research, pain management innovation, and multiple publications in anesthesia and pain literature. She also contributed a textbook chapter on spinal cord stimulation, further solidifying her reputation as an authority in interventional pain medicine.

Since 2002, Dr. Girault has been in private practice in South Carolina, where she provides advanced interventional pain management and performs hundreds of Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) for personal injury and workers’ compensation cases.

Dr. Girault is in active clinical practice in both Fort Mill, SC, and West Columbia, SC, where she leads the Injury Medicine Specialists team. Her approach combines medical precision, legal awareness, and patient-centered compassion, providing attorneys, employers, and insurers with the trusted expertise they need for complex injury cases.

Family Nurse Practitioner & Legal Nurse Consultant
Ashley Wiest
Ashley Wiest is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has worked alongside Dr. Girault since 2022, providing comprehensive care across both office locations. She manages medication-assisted treatment (Suboxone), chronic pain patients, and new patient evaluations, delivering individualized, evidence-based care.
Ashley plays an integral role in the practice’s medical-legal services, assisting with Personal Injury cases, Independent Medical Examination (IME) record organization and review, and Life Care Planning. With over four years of direct mentorship under Dr. Girault, she serves as a Legal Nurse Consultant, supporting complex case analysis and clinical documentation.
In addition to her clinical and legal responsibilities, Ashley manages marketing initiatives and website development, contributing to both operational growth and patient engagement.
Education and Training
Ashley earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2009), Master of Science in Nursing Education (2015), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (2022), followed by a Graduate Certificate in Health Informatics and Data Analytics (2024). She brings a diverse clinical background spanning emergency care, urgent care, correctional medicine, and pain management.

Practice Manager & Legal/Workers’ Compensation Coordinator
Jan Brodie
Jan Brodie serves as the Practice Manager for our pain management division, overseeing daily operations across our Columbia and Fort Mill offices. With over 30 years of experience in the medical insurance industry, she brings extensive knowledge of healthcare systems, case management, and administrative operations.
Jan is also the primary coordinator for Workers’ Compensation and serves as the legal liaison for Personal Injury, Life Care Plan, and Independent Medical Examination (IME) cases. As the first point of contact for all cases, she works closely with attorneys, case managers, and providers to ensure clear communication, accurate documentation, and efficient case progression.
Known for her organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail, Jan plays a vital role in supporting both patients and legal partners. Her experience and dedication help ensure every case is handled with professionalism, accuracy, and care.
